Privacy Policy

Alban Corporation (hereinafter the “Company”) establishes this Privacy Policy (hereinafter the “Policy”) to set forth the handling of users’ personal information in connection with the services provided on this website (hereinafter the “Services”).

Article 1 (Personal Information)

“Personal Information” means “personal information” as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan, i.e., information about a living individual that can identify the specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information or other descriptions contained therein, as well as data relating to appearance, fingerprints, voiceprints, and insurer numbers on health insurance cards and any other information that can identify the specific individual by itself (collectively, “Personally Identifiable Information”).

Article 2 (Method of Collecting Personal Information)

The Company may ask users to provide personal information such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number, credit-card number, and driver’s-license number when they register to use the Services.
In addition, the Company may collect transaction records containing personal information and settlement information between users and business partners (including information providers, advertisers, ad-distribution partners, and the like; collectively, “Partners”).

Article 3 (Purposes of Collecting and Using Personal Information)

The Company collects and uses personal information for the following purposes:

  1. To provide and operate the Services;

  2. To respond to user inquiries (including identity verification);

  3. To send emails concerning new features, updates, campaigns, and information on other services provided by the Company that the user is currently using;

  4. To contact users as necessary for maintenance or important notices;

  5. To identify users who violate the Terms of Use or who attempt to use the Services for fraudulent or unjust purposes, and to refuse their use;

  6. To allow users to view, modify, delete, and examine their registered information and usage status;

  7. To bill users for paid repairs, maintenance, or services; and

  8. Any purposes incidental to the purposes above.

Article 4 (Changes to the Purposes of Use)

  1. The Company may change the purposes of use of personal information only when the new purposes are reasonably related to the original purposes.

  2. If the purposes are changed, the Company shall notify users or publicly announce the new purposes by a method prescribed by the Company.

Article 5 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

  1. Except in the cases set forth below or as permitted by laws and regulations, the Company will not provide personal information to third parties without prior consent of the user:

    1. When it is necessary for the protection of life, body, or property, and obtaining the user’s consent is difficult;

    2. When it is particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting sound growth of children, and obtaining the user’s consent is difficult;

    3. When it is necessary to cooperate with a national or local government agency, or a party entrusted by such agency, in performing duties prescribed by law, and obtaining the user’s consent would hinder the performance of such duties;

    4. When the following matters have been notified or announced in advance and the Company has filed the required notification with the Personal Information Protection Commission:

      • The purposes of use include provision to third parties;

      • Items of data provided to third parties;

      • Means or methods of provision to third parties;

      • Measures for ceasing provision to third parties upon the user’s request; and

      • Method of accepting such user requests.

  2. Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, the following cases are not deemed to constitute provision to third parties:

    1. When the Company outsources all or part of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use;

    2. When personal information is provided in connection with succession of business due to merger or other reasons;

    3. When personal information is used jointly with a specific party, and the Company notifies the user in advance (or makes it easily accessible) of the items of personal information jointly used, the scope of joint users, the purposes of use, and the name of the party responsible for managing the personal information.

Article 6 (Disclosure of Personal Information)

  1. When a user requests disclosure of personal information, the Company shall disclose it without delay. However, the Company may refuse to disclose all or part of the information if any of the following applies, and will notify the user without delay if it decides not to disclose:

    1. Disclosure is likely to harm the life, body, property, or other rights or interests of the user or a third party;

    2. Disclosure is likely to seriously impede the proper execution of the Company’s business;

    3. Disclosure would violate other laws or regulations.
      A handling fee of JPY 1,000 per request will be charged for disclosure.

  2. Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, the Company will not, in principle, disclose information other than personal information such as history data and characteristic information.

Article 7 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information)

  1. If the user’s personal information held by the Company is incorrect, the user may request correction, addition, or deletion (“Correction, etc.”) according to procedures prescribed by the Company.

  2. If the Company determines that it is necessary to respond to such request, it shall perform the Correction, etc. without delay.

Article 8 (Suspension of Use of Personal Information)

  1. If the Company is requested by a user to suspend or erase the use of personal information (“Suspension of Use, etc.”) on the grounds that the information is being handled beyond the scope of the purposes of use or obtained by improper means, the Company will conduct the necessary investigation without delay.

  2. If it determines that it is necessary to comply with the request based on the investigation result, the Company will perform the Suspension of Use, etc. without delay.

  3. When the Company implements or decides not to implement the Suspension of Use, etc. under the preceding paragraph, it will notify the user without delay.

  4. If the Suspension of Use, etc. involves substantial cost or is otherwise difficult, and alternative measures necessary to protect the user’s rights and interests can be taken, the Company will implement such alternative measures.

Article 9 (Changes to This Policy)

Except as otherwise provided by laws or this Policy, the Company may change the contents of this Policy without prior notice to users.
Unless otherwise specified by the Company, the revised Privacy Policy shall take effect when posted on this website.
